about

Aye- LARGE UP to the people still ridin’ with me, even NOW! After I left ya hangin’ for months. Even after I said I wouldn’t leave you hangin’ again, but did (unintentionally). Now, even after everything, you’re still here. Gratitude is a MUST, so I send thanks to The Most High everyday for letting me reach you. Counter to that, which I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, if I fail to provide what you come here for, leave me be. Point. Blank. Period.

Onto.. CENTUM: Latin word for “hundred”. C-note; “C” short for “centum”, and “note” referring to the U.S. 100 dollar bill. Yes, another song about money. One might call me vain or materialistic- and it’s true. I’m somewhat a vanity slave. However, 2 things can be true at once. Even with my want for more possessions, I understand it’s not all one needs to be truly happy. In fact, according to a study (entitled: Happiness, Income Satiation and Turning Points Around The World) by nature.com, there’s a threshold for happiness in correlation with income. Nature refers to it as ‘Income Satiation’. Globally, they found that satiation (happiness) occurs at $95,000 (yearly) for life evaluation and $60,000 to $75,000 for emotional well-being. At the same time they find that incomes BEYOND satiation are associated with lower life evaluations. In other words, for people who earn more than $95k, happiness diminishes. Not that this stat is cold, hard proof, because things like this vary on the individual, but I think it’s enough to show that being happy has much more to do with other things in our lives that don’t involve money. Also stated in the study, money influences happiness through the fulfillment of both NEEDS & INCREASING MATERIAL DESIRES. Take this info however you might, but I think the knowledge only helps.

Oh yeauh- you might be asking who that is on the cover-art. That’s my grandfather, Eneasi Vakafuhu Teufolau Toki. I had finished up the song and hadn’t given thought to the artwork yet. Randomly goin’ through some old family photos, I came across what is now my artwork for the single. It was instant. Meant to be, if you ask me. What better way to somewhat preserve my grandpa’s legacy than by immortalizing him through my art? None. A lot of who I am stems from him- that goes for many of the people who knew him, especially his kids & grandkids. I know many of you feel the same about your grandparents/parents, so I’m sure you can relate. This one is for them.

Alright people. This brings me to the end of another blah-blah-blah. I hope you’re doing well, and I thank you ever so much as usual for staying with me. My best, best regards, friends & family. Next release coming soon. UP n’ UP!

Intro

Yeauh
Mmm
S-I-O-N-E

1st Verse

I don’t love you, girl I love this cash
Can’t let go of it
Baby I need mo’ of it
All my life, been tradin’ my time for it
This is where I draw the line
All or nothin’ this time
50 tol’ me “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” (woah - aye)

For once I wanna pull up in a Bentley Truck (truck)
I can see they tryin’, but they can’t keep up (up)
The more I get put on, the more they envy (envy)
Can’t get to all the DMs these people send me (nah)
Franklin’ is my favorite shade of blue (yeh)
Hardships thought I wouldn’t make it through,
but we here now
Closer than ever to be drippin’ from the ear down
Rockin’ a Gucci sweater like it’s winter year ‘round

Pre-chorus

We here now, we here now
So much jealousy amongst my peers,
Back then I used to care, but now I’m gettin’ to these C-notes

Chorus

C-no-woah
C-notes by the layer
You know I’m gettin’ my pay up
C-notes
C-notes yeah, C-notes yeah
C-notes by the layer
You know I’m gettin’ my pay up-woah-oo-woah

Bridge

Bad mama, bad mama-cita
See the whip
Cookie sweeter than Sweet Nina’s
w/the cream dip
Gotta order that by the liter
when she gimme lip
Opportune moment to teach her

2nd Verse

Really I don’t want no more distractions (I don’t)
even though I find you so attractive (I do)
I need me more duckets for the passion (yeauh)
Not to mention (oh),
I need a mansion (yeauh)
Not a criminal, I’m cautious with my actions (woah)
This is pivotal, I can’t be losin’ traction (woah)
Must be against me if you tell me to relax
You a big tree
You ain’t heard I’m Johnny (Axe)
I don’t mean no disrespect
Keepin’ my priorities in check
but who knows, it’s pro’lly for the best,
and I’ll regret it if I settle for less, yeauh

Cut me check (mm yeauh)
I’m goin’ off like a teck (woah)
Sayin’ you next (oo nah)
Better say it with ya chest (hey)
What you got to back it up if you the best
Heard yo new sh’t, boy you no different from the rest
Yes, yes, yes

Pre-Chorus

We here now, we here now
Don’t care much about the chant or cheers,
bein’ famous or revered
All I want are these C-notes

Chorus

C-notes
C-notes by the layer
You know I’m gettin’ my pay up
C-notes
C-notes yeauh, C-notes yeauh
C-notes by the layer
You know I’m gettin’ my pay up
