about

Recently, I’ve gotten into reading more as part of a list of goals I set for myself at the end of 2020. More specifically, books that I think will help me progress in all aspects of life; mind, body & soul. The first book I made a point to get into is Jordan Peterson’s “12 Rules For Life”. People who’ve read the book often compare it to self-help books, but not long into the read, I understand it to be much more.. a world-help book haha (cheesy). Peterson really emphasizes on the fundamentals of being an effective part of society by focusing on that which every individual can control. Yourself. For example, Rule 4: Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today. Seems like common sense, but truth is common sense ain’t so common these days. Applying Rule 4 can be difficult when you’re hardwired to social media. It’s easy to fall into the trap of comparing who you are to the portrayals that make up your feed- especially when you’re young and impressionable. Fortunately, we all have the ultimate power of changing our own circumstances. People will tell you otherwise, or that you can’t do it without the help of an institution or even government- which I doubt very much. True, we may need help overcoming certain obstacles, but I think we underestimate ourselves, and more so we underestimate the help God can and does provide.

I really didn’t bring up the book to rant about it as long as I just did, but to bring up the goals I set last year for 2021- in which I included the release of more music haha.. But yeauh, I do plan to release 1+ song every month instead of waiting every 2-6 months. I admit, it was so much easier for me to knock out songs when I was driven by being within the circles of the successful. However, when I found that most of my counterparts are being held up by strings, behind smoke & mirrors, it took a lot o’ wind from my sail. I’ve only recently realized it’s all a game and that’s just what I’m working against. Not to play by their standards, but to compete at my best- the classic story of Man VS Machine, like John Henry the “Steel-Driving Man”. Only difference is I’m workin’ with an axe hahaa.. I’m hilarious, I know. Anyway, feel free to hold me to what I’m puttin’ out there- I need it.

This song was produced by LecczBeatz, whom I’ve stayed in contact with even though the last record we put out together was “Pull Up” featuring Fiji. That was 5 years ago. Within the 5 years, LecczBeatz and I have worked on various records, but none I could really push out there for one reason or another. I tend to pile on the workflow until it becomes too overwhelming to handle, then I end up moving on, forgetting about what I started and didn’t finish. It’s inefficient, but I blame the artist in me haha.. We’re here now. LecczBeatz has really been honing his craft in the mean time and that fact will shine through this record. It’s flawless in quality and in arrangement- my dude really brought out the most in this record and I hope you can appreciate that as much as I do. Special thanks to LecczBeatz again & again.

Lyrics of the song by yours truly, inspired by life & imagination.. among other things. Words that many men and women can identify with, I’m sure. If you haven’t lived it, you will through this song haha.. Maybe you’ll understand it, maybe you won’t. I don’t ever know for sure, but I do hope for all my content to be relatable. That’s one of the more important factors to me as a writer. A challenge sometimes, but worth the work when a song becomes more than just that to people. I think we as human beings naturally feel validated when we know someone else has been through what we as ourselves have been through. I think that’s why we’re drawn to certain people and groups. I’m no expert, but makes sense to me haha.. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy listening to it. More to come- I promise. Much love from my side to yours, friends. Thank you so much for listening and welcome to my new listeners. Stay safe. BLESSAWP!

Yeauh
Yeauh, yeauh
Yeauh, yeauh
Shout out to LecczBeatz
Oh, oh, oh

If you don’t know me I’m
S-I-O-N-E

You ain’t fo’ me
You ain’t real, you a phony
Lookin’ at me like I did you wrong
Lookin’ like I shoulda known all alo-lo-long
Liar
Word got out without a flyer
Doesn’t matter to me as to why
All I gotta know is that you lie-lie-lie-lie-lie

When it comes to women I don’t really see a difference
Lord knows I’m right, can I get a witness
They get overconfident and then they want distance
You give ‘em distance, they hit someone else for assistance
Honesty the one and only thing on my wishlist
I been let down, each and every instance
Even if you got good business
Shawty gone if you ain’t ballin’ like the Pistons
You ain’t gotta

Lie-lie-lie-lie-lie
Yet you still lie
Don’t know why
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight
You ain’t gotta
Lie-lie-lie-lie
Yet you still lie
(Lie-lie-lie-lie-lie)
Don’t know why
(Why)
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight

Someone tol’ me
You tried gettin’ with the brodee
Passcode changed on ya phone
Seen this many times befo’-woah-oh-woah-oh
Oh, ya busted
Pretty as you are I’m disgusted
Knew that I was better on my own
Hopin’ that you feelin’ all alo-lo-lo-lo-lone

I believe that love is hard to come by
It could be all that you want if it’s done right
Heartbreak University Alumni
Learned to never say “I love you”, but get tongue-tied
I understand that I ain’t everything you needed
It ain’t enough for you to justify you cheatin’
All you had to do was love me like you mean it
Instead you tried to hide it from me, but I seen it
Oh, you ain’t gotta

Lie-lie-lie-lie-lie
Yet you still lie
Don’t know why
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight
You ain’t gotta
Lie-lie-lie-lie
Yet you still lie
(Lie-lie-lie-lie-lie)
Don’t know why
(Why)
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight

Why-yah-yah-yay girl
Woah not one more lie girl
Baby I tried
Time & time
Tried to ignore all the signs
Bye girl
You can’t be my girl
‘Cause you lie-yah-yah-yah-yah-yah-yah-yaah
Woah, why..

Yet you still lie
Don’t know why
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight
You ain’t gotta
Lie-lie-lie-lie
Yet you still lie
(Lie-lie-lie-lie-lie)
Don’t know why
(Why)
You ain’t righ-yah-yah-yah-ight
